We had our Third Annual Winter Breakfast at the Bedford Public Library. We ate a ton, played a holiday Kahoot and participated in Hour of Code. We had a wonderful morning!

DNR Visit

We had a guest speaker from the Michigan DNR who spoke about Black Bears in Michigan. Our classes are participating in the Michigan Student Black Bear Research Project.

Veteran's Day Assembly

Thank you to all of our Veteran's including Lorelei's brother, Tyler's dad, Jacob's dad, Hunter's dad, Connor's dad/ brother, and Reagan's brother. The presentations today were excellent as well as the musical tributes.

Owl Pellet Investigation Continued

Owl Pellet Investigation

As a culminating activity to food webs we dissected Owl Pellets today. The students worked in teams to dissect the pellets and identify what the owl ate. Great fun and hands on learning!

Competition in the Ecosystem

Last week we had a Lab illustrating Competition within an Ecosystem (using Fruit Loops--- how fun). Check out some pictures. Kids were super engaged and I was proud of their learning dialogue!

Ecosystem Hike

Today we did an Ecosystem Hike to the pond behind the school. Depending on what hour we saw all sorts of cool plants and animals. Seventh hour even saw two snakes and a turtle. We are connecting this to writing in the content area and composing paragraphs about our trip and including our vocabulary.

Welcome to Mrs. Currie's Cool Class. I love teaching 6th Grade and am so excited to meet you! I have been teaching in Bedford since 2006. I have two amazing kids and a really cool dog! In my free time I am going to college at Saginaw Valley State University. My daughter Kate plays hockey and softball. My son Chris is in Saginaw Valley's Marching Band. Solar Ovens-- Energetic Connections

 Today we constructed and cooked in our Solar Ovens. Solar Energy can really make some yummy S'mores!
